Chocolate & Nut Bliss Balls

Snack time! With a coffee, as a small dessert, or before a workout, these Bliss Balls are full of healthy fats and do not contain industrial sugar. You still don't have to miss out on the good taste - just a tablespoon of honey provides the necessary sweetness.

Protein Brownies

Hey there chocolate lovers! Here's a super chocolaty, protein-packed version of the popular brownies. A great snack for Sunday coffee or maybe even a breakfast idea - how could the day start better?

Chocolate Cherry Pie with Zucchini

Currently, we have a lot of zucchini in our garden, so I always think about new ways to use them. My latest attempt was a chocolate cake with cherries. The zucchini and the cherries make the cake nice and juicy. Do you grow your own veggies? How do you use them?

Chocolate Banana Bread

I know, many of you probably had more than enough banana bread in the past few months. However, I love trying new versions. My latest creation: a high-protein banana bread with delicious chocolate drops.

Nutella Muffins

From a culinary point of view, you can find almost everything in the US. But what I really miss sometimes is a good old "typical European" breakfast. And what should not be missing on any German breakfast table? Nutella, of course. But there is a lot more you can do with it than just spread it on your rolls, the nut-nougat cream is also great for baking. And baking can hardly be easier than with these muffins - simply mix all the ingredients together and put them in the oven.

Nut Cake

Today I've got another cake for you. I used a Gugelhupf mold, simply because I like the look. This time it is a basic recipe from my mom, in which I have adapted little things. I often bake in small molds since there are only two of us. If that's the case for you too, you can easily halve the quantities in the recipe.

Power Muffins

Before a workout, I always need a little snack that gives me energy, but is not to heavy. I like to have something sweet, so granola bars or Bliss Balls are my favorites. This time I just filled the mixture into my beloved muffin tin and baked Power Muffins.

Banana Date Cake

During the Corona Lockdown, probably no one has been able to avoid banana bread. But banana is actually also super suitable for many healthier cake, muffin & pastry versions. Its natural sweetness and soft texture make it a real all-rounder ingredient for your home bakery. Time to get your hands on the mixer!

Oat Cookies

Oat Cookies are so simple and yet so delicious. I made a chocolate version today, but if you are not a fan of that, just leave out the chocolate drops. This tastes just as good. Have fun.

Coffee Walnut Brownies

Brownies are one of my favorite pastries. In addition to the classic chocolate flavor and walnut pieces, this version also scores with a little hint of coffee - perfect for me as a coffee lover.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

A chocolate cake that is healthy, vegan and super delicious at the same time? No problem. The secret ingredient is apple sauce. You can use it to replace eggs, as well as give the cake a natural sweetness. In addition, the cake is also easy and super fast to make, what more could you want?

Chocolate Waffles

I really wonder why I have only baked light waffles until now. This chocolatey recipe is a delight in the afternoon and provides a beautiful visual contrast when the powdered sugar trickles down onto the chocolate waffle. I personally like to offer my guests a choice of different waffles, if you are the same way, you might want to add these chocolate waffles to some Belgian Waffles. Enjoy!

Black and White Thalers

With this recipe, vanilla and chocolate fans get their money’s worth. Depending on your taste, you can use more or less vanilla. Try a small piece of dough in advance to be sure 🙂

Chocolate Hummus

Usually, I like hummus best with lots of garlic and chili with my falafel. But did you know that you can also process chickpeas to a super healthy, delicious dessert, dip, or spread? Naturally sweetened, and without any baking or cooking, you can have a delicious, sweet choice on the table in just a few minutes. Tastes great with pita chips, as a spread on rice cakes, or simply with a spoon right out of the jar - definitely give it a try!

Chocolate-Coffee Cookie Dough

Raise your hand, if you licked out the bowl when your mom made a cake when you were a kid. I was one of those kids that loved the dough so much that only half of it ended up in the baking pan. And I have to admit that even today I can't keep my hands off cookie and cake dough. So I was thrilled when the cookie dough trend came up - a cookie dough that's meant to be eaten before it's baked? A dream come true! This version also does not need any industrial sugar, making it a perfect healthy dessert 🙂

Chocolate Ring Cake

After a long time I wanted to make another ring cake and have been looking for a good recipe. The result is this juicy chocolate bomb with delicious curd cheese filling. You need a lot of ingredients, but for us it was worth it. Due to the juicy dough, the cake is still good to eat even after several days. 🙂

Nougat Cake Review

For some time I have been thinking about baking a nougat cake with hazelnuts. Nice and chocolaty, without buttercream and hopefully not too dense. I found a simple recipe, which I would like to review here: What worked well, what did not work at all and whether I can recommend the recipe. Have fun 🙂

Sprinkle Cake

Let’s party! This cake invites you to celebrate and is certainly THE eye-catcher at the next family celebration. Of course, the decorating did not go super well for me, but I‘m sure you can do better 🙂 Taste-wise, the cake can also convince: A fluffy base meets a light cheese cream, which I have colored blue in this attempt.

Sweet Breakfast Wrap

When I think of wraps, my favorite Mexican restaurant comes to my mind immediately. I usually get their burrito filled with rice, avocado, corn, beans and salsa. Together with a cold Corona this makes the perfect Friday night. Lately I enjoy wraps for breakfast, too – as a sweet version with cream cheese, fruits & granola. Keeps you full for a long time, is super tasty and just something different.

Gluten Free Almond Bites

This weekend we had visitors and needed something to go with the coffee. These gluten free almond bites were just right - they are slightly smaller than the originals from the bakery and are therefore great as a snack in between.

Chocolate Rolls

I prepared these chocolate rolls in the morning right before breakfast (admittedly: breakfast was a little later than usual this morning). But the wait was really worth it, because these chocolate rolls are easy to prepare and look great. Have fun trying!

Baked Banana Chocolate Oats

Recently, I started to take a closer look at the macro values of my diet. Like many people, I don't eat enough protein. Of course, there are many foods that are very rich in protein - cottage cheese, yogurt, nuts and legumes are among my favorites. However, I wanted to try protein powder for a while - partly because it seems easy to incorporate that into my current favorite recipes. My first breakfast were these pancakes, and while I definitely still need some practice with the look, they are a hit taste-wise.

Walnut Cookies

Again, I only had one egg at home, and so was looking for a recipe that doesn't ask for more. I found these walnut cookies, which can also be baked wonderfully outside the Christmas season for the next coffee party. I modified the recipe a bit, so that not quite as much sugar and chocolate are used. The nice thing about these cookies is that you can watch the dough balls turn into crispy cookies during the short baking time. Yum!

Strawberry-Cookie-Yogurt with Chocolate Topping

When you're hungry and not at home, you often tend to quickly grab something"to go". This is then usually quite expensive, does not keep you full very long and is not particularly healthy. This is not how it needs to be though. This yogurt is great to take along. The strawberries give the snack a fresh touch.

Chocolate Banana Tiramisu

This weekend I was really craving for a sweet dessert. One of my absolute favorites is Italian Tiramisu. I have recreated this recipe to a version that is lower in calories. Instead of ladyfingers, this version uses small Belgian waffles, which also soak up the liqueur and coffee superbly. I also included a layer of banana slices in my recipe, so there are some vitamins in there as well.

High Protein Mochi Cake

Who of you knows these tiny, sweet and somewhat sticky rice cakes that are often served as dessert in sushi restaurants? - Actually they are almost a fitness snack … if it weren't for the added sugar. Last week, I created a high protein version, which does without it - making it the perfect snack. Beans and bran flour as a basic ingredients may not sound like a delicious dessert at first, but I was really surprised how well the rice cakes turned out even without Sugar. Convince yourself and try! 🙂

Pear Cake

Once a month I get a box with fresh organic fruits and vegetables. This time pears were included, so the idea for this cake was born. The recipe is for half a tray (about 26x20cm), because a whole tray for two persons plus a mini-man is a little too much. This cake reminds of brownies with a fruity pear note. I’ll be if you like it too 🙂

Date Marzipan Bites

If you ask me what ingredient I absolutely love in chocolates, the answer is simple - marzipan! So it's no wonder that my date marzipan bites can't get around it either. They are super fast to prepare and taste heavenly with a fresh coffee. The cherry brandy gives the bites a special touch, but can be be left out without any problems.

Banana Cake

This banana cake came out rather by accident. I have cheerfully prepared the dough for another recipe- until I was supposed to add 6 eggs, which I - contrary to expectations - no longer had. Quickly I had to come up with a recipe for the dough I had started. The result was a banana cake with chocolate drops, that I will definitely make more often in the future. Admittedly: A banana cake is nothing for every week, but every now and then it is really nice to have something a little different. And best of all, only one egg is needed for the entire cake.

Breakfast Cookies

When looking for healthy breakfast ideas I ran into breakfast cookies a few times. Given the fact that I love sweet breakfast and prefer to prepare food, I wanted to give it a try. Oats and ground nuts are the main ingredients, the cookies are sweetened with agave syrup and finally refined with a few chocolate drops - delicious!

Vegan Sweet Potato Brownies

Potatoes in a chocolate pastry? Half of you will probably be mentally going through the list of crazy ingredients for healthier alternatives to classic pastries; and besides zucchini, carrot & co. have also come across sweet potatoes in baking recipes. The other half probably thinks it's a mistake - or wonders how this will go together. So brownies that aren't a high-fat, high-sugar calorie bomb? As a big chocolate lover, I'm definitely critical, but also curious about how the lighter alternatives can keep up with the original. Let me tell you one thing: this recipe definitely can!

Ant Cake

Today I show you one of my favorite cakes: Ant cake. If you like sweets and chocolaty things, this cake is the perfect choice. Have fun!

Chocolate Nut Bites

Who does not love snacks? Before a workout, as a little energy boost in the afternoon or in the evening on the couch. Nevertheless, you don't always have to open your chips bag right away. Because once open, the entire bag is gone sooner than you think 🙂 These chocolate nut bites are a somewhat healthier alternative. Vegan, really easy to make and incredibly delicious!

Crunchy Chocolate Granola

Ingredient lists always start with the major ingredient. Unfortunately often times sugar is at the top of the list for many granolas in the stores ! Nevertheless, I don't want to miss my crunchy granola for breakfast and today I am going to show you a slightly healthier alternative.

Cappuccino Cake

Recently I wanted to make a non-fruity cake. Especially at hot temperatures even the most delicious chocolate cake is just too much for me. The following recipe is a delicious alternative to the classic chocolate cakes with a light cappuccino taste.

Walnut-Affogato

This charming version of the classic affogato al caffè (Italian: drowned espresso) is especially great for coffee and nut lovers. In this recipe, a scoop of walnut ice cream "drowns" in the espresso and is then garnished with melted chocolate. Perfect for warm summer days!

Mole Cake for Two

This mole cake is ideal for a small family. I am always annoyed, when a cake is not worth baking it, because the portion is completely oversized for two persons and you can't really recalculate the quantities. Especially, if (as with this cake) you can’t freeze it, because it has a cream filling and should be eaten at the next day at latest. Here’s one of my favorite cake recipes that makes a cake for two.
